Silver Duckwing Araucana
Painting commissioned by Cash’s Blue Eggs from photos of our own birds.

The silver duckwing variety in the araucana seems to be somewhat like the Loch Ness monster. It seems everyone has heard of it, however few have seen one. This was the color that originally drew my attention in the araucana. I love the soft grey color in the hens with the pretty pale peach chest. It is such a nice contrast. Many people have golden duckwing hens and think they have silver duckwing. Look at the tab on the left under Duckwing Araucana to see the differences. I have a good silver Cockerel that is cleanfaced and I have several tufted silver hens along with a couple of cleanfaced silver hens. My goal for spring is to hopefully hatch a good silver tufted cockerel.
